Last month 213,000 of the telecom operator’s G3 subscribers began using its 3G services, thus bringing the total number of China Mobile’s 3G users to 959,000.The total number of subscribers had increased to 493.12 million by the end of last month. In the first six months of this year, its subscriber base increased 5.98 million each month on average.In June, China Mobile’s newly-added new subscribers accounted for 61% of the country’s total, bringing its share of the country’s total mobile user base to 73.3%.China Mobile’s net profit jumped 29.6% from a year earlier to RMB 113 billion in 2008.
